Expect the world et Moi non plus

"Expect the World" is an exhibition, video program, and conference of Portuguese artists that takes place at Sparwasser HQ, Parkhaus Treptow, Z-bar, and Künstlerhaus Bethanien. The show presents a generation of young artists, who grew up in Portugal during the 1980s. This was a period of destabilized social utopia, just after the 1974 revolution, when internationalization manifested itself through pop culture and television. Hence, the title "Expect the world - moi non plus," implies an ambivalent experience of societal change and also an existential stance. A reaction of intense tension, aesthetically expressed, is visible in the works of the artists.
